Wedding at Cardiff's Museum

Wedding at Cardiff's Museum

Monday 21st August 2017

This weekend was a busy one. We played two weddings, Friday at Cardiff Museum and Saturday at De Courceys Manor. Both were loads of fun but Friday was special!

Laura and Joe got married at Cardiff Museum on Friday and they invited us to play at their wedding. Joe wanted to surprise Laura by singing their first dance: Can't Nobody Love You - Solomon Burke. Great tune!
So we organised a secret rehearsal with Joe the day before. He came around our rehearsal studio (none of his friends knew about this...) and rehearsed the first dance ready for the big day. It was so much fun!
For us, this was the highlight of the wedding. Laura didn't expect it at all! We called the couple on the dancefloor and just when they were ready to start dancing Joe step forward, grabbed the mic and started singing. He did such a great job! When he finished, he joined Laura while we jammed the song and Nicky took a couple of choruses at the end. All their friends and family joined too. After that we started our first set and the dancefloor was full all night.

From here many thanks to Joe and Laura for inviting us to play at their wedding!

Meeting before the big day is a great idea because it allows us to break the ice with our clients so during the wedding we already know each other and everything feels more personal. Never hesitate on asking us for a quick chat or meeting before your wedding, we are always happy to arrange a meeting!

Also in September we have a nice surprise coming up. Stay tuned on the Soul Lotta Funk news channel!
